Privacy policy
Short, because this site does very little with your data.
What this website collects
Nothing automatically. This site has no analytics, no advertising pixels, no tracking cookies and no third-party scripts that profile you. There is no cookie banner because there are no cookies to consent to.
Two things are loaded from other companies to make the pages work: web fonts from Google Fonts, and, on the contact page only, an embedded Google Map. Both are served by Google and will see your IP address as part of delivering that content. If you never open the contact page, the map is never loaded.
What happens when you send an enquiry
The enquiry forms on this site do not post to a database. They take the answers you have typed, compose them into a message, and hand that message to WhatsApp or to your email client — where you can read it before you send it. Nothing leaves your device until you press send in that app.
Once you do send it, we hold what you sent us: your name, your phone number, your email if you gave one, and whatever you told us about the trip. We use it to quote for your trip and to run it. We do not sell it, rent it or pass it to anyone outside the people needed to deliver your booking.
Who we share booking details with
To actually operate a trip we have to pass certain details on: your name and ID details go to hotels, to transport operators, and to the government offices that issue permits — the Sikkim and Arunachal permit authorities, the forest departments for safaris, and Bhutanese immigration. That is the minimum required to get you where you are going, and it is the only reason we share anything.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into bookings are kept while they are live and then discarded. Booking records are kept for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes.
Your choices
Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it, except where we are legally required to keep a booking record. Write to himalayangetawaytours@gmail.com or call +91 74780 02985.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics, an enquiry database or anything else that collects data, this page gets updated at the same time. A privacy policy that describes a site other than the one you are reading is worthless.
