About Pelling & West Sikkim
Pelling is a viewpoint with a town attached, and nobody minds. From the upper hotels Kanchenjunga fills the window at breakfast, which is a rare thing to be able to promise.
The history is here too. Pemayangtse, founded in 1705, is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, and the Rabdentse ruins a short walk away are what is left of the kingdom capital, standing on a spur with the range behind them.
Add Khecheopalri, a lake the local people keep so clean that no leaf is allowed to rest on it, and the Sky Walk at Chenrezig for the view straight down.
